Abbotsford Convent Foundation
The Abbotsford Convent is a key cultural, art, leisure and learning destination in Melbourne. The heritage-listed Convent building and grounds are located along the banks of the Yarra River. In 2015, the Abbotsford Convent Foundation embarked on the refurbishment of the Sacred Heart building complex to create new creative/ arts spaces. The building complex previously housed the Good Shepard Sisters’ Magdalen Asylum from 1863 to the early 1970s and required significant repair throughout.
This important project had the financial support of the Dara Foundation, the Federal Government’s Stronger Regions Fund and Abbotsford Convent Foundation. Accuraco worked closely with ACF’s Client Team to procure the design and consultant team, provide scheduling, progress and risk reporting and authority liaison. Following the success of this project, Accuraco was retained to provide procurement advice for the ACF’s Magdalen Laundries refurbishment project.
