Budj Bim
The Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation
Budj Bim, a UNESCO World Heritage–listed cultural landscape in Western Victoria, is recognised globally for its outstanding Indigenous heritage and ancient aquaculture systems. The Budj Bim Masterplan sets out to enhance visitor experiences through world-class interpretive design and upgraded amenities that share the Gunditjmara people’s stories and connection to Country.
Accuraco was engaged by the Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation to manage the delivery of this ambitious vision. Our scope covered significant tourism infrastructure across five sites, including boardwalks, bridges, lookouts, shelters, car parks, a visitor centre, and the Traditional Aquaculture Centre. Working within a highly sensitive environment, Accuraco played a critical role in coordinating complex authority approvals, ensuring that all works were carefully planned, compliant, and respectful of the site’s cultural and environmental significance.
