Camberwell Place sits within the competitive Camberwell Junction retail precinct. Following a 2019 review of the Level One leasing strategy, Accuraco was engaged to reconfigure the former food court and adjoining tenancies into flexible non-food retail space suitable for a single anchor tenant or multiple specialty and mini-major retailers.
The project included tenancy consolidation, lobby and amenity upgrades, fire sprinkler enhancements and an improved external lift lobby, while maintaining the existing centre layout. Delivered in two separable stages, the approach enabled the incoming tenant to commence fit-out early while remaining works progressed, minimising disruption within the live shopping centre.
Accuraco managed the project from design through construction, coordinating Centre Management, consultants and multiple stakeholders. Early structural and compliance assessments addressed complex change-of-use requirements, with all works including a new feature ceiling over the main travelator completed on time for the major tenant’s opening.
